Surf N Turf - Surf / Golf Chatity Event

On 21st March, Sussex Inlet will be welcoming over 120 competitors to compete in the Surf N Turf South Coast Bushfire Appeal. The charity event will see 32 teams of 4 compete for major prizes in a combined surfing and golf event, with 100% of the entry fees being donated to the Ocean and Earth South Coast Bushfire Appeal. The event aims to raise over $20,000.

The surfing event will see each team compete in a tag team style event. Teams will surf against each other in a hour long heat, where each surfers best two waves will count. The team with the highest score will be announced the surfing winners.

The golf event will be nine holes played under ambrose rules. Each player takes a shot. Team will then decide which ball is best placed and all players will play from that placement. Team with the lowest score will be announced as golfing winners.

Teams will be awarded points for the position they come in each surfing and golf, with the points added together to announce an overall winner for the day. Winners will take home major prizes, and each competitor will receive a prize pack. In addition there will be other fun activities and giveaways during the day.

Sussex Inlet Annual Family Fishing Carnival

A fishing competition in which all the family can participate, with over $25,000 in valuable prizes including cash to be won. The emphasis is on children enjoying the joys of fishing in a family atmosphere. Competitors can fish from the river bank, a boat, inside the basin or out in the ocean or off the rocks. This event is the longest running event of its type in Australia.

It's celebration of the 140th anniversary of the arrival of Jacob Ellmoos to Sussex Inlet. Jacob Ellmoos came from the little Danish village of Ensted,near Hostrup, Aabenraa. The festival celebrates the first European settlers of our beautiful area of the Shoalhaven and will showcase local businesses, viking village and camp with tents and fire pit, cooking displays, viking games, armoured combat, knattleikr (kind of like medieval football), wrestling, crafts, rides for the kids, Scandinavian food, live music & entertainment and much more.... Join us in Sussex Inlet for the second Colour Fun Run along the picturesque waterfront, whilst raising vital funds for Careflight. The event will cover approx 3.5km between Badgee Bridge in the north and Chris Creek Bridge in the south. Participants can run, walk or stroll their way along the course and enjoy lot of fun, music and colour>
