Having holidayed in Sussex all our respective childhoods, we thought we'd take our little boy for his first holiday (other than to family's homes!) The home is well presented and in a prime location. We were tremendously happy with the setup of the home, and it's whereabouts. Our boy loved watching the boats come and go, and enjoyed wandering down to the small, sandy, miniature beaches just beyond the property. Our big criticism is that it is not thought out for young children in some ways. Primarily, the front and side door locks. The electronic locks on the front and side door have no safety features for a child. For fancy (Circa $1000 locks), this is poor and not well thought out by the owners. My partner and I were left googling whether there were any difficult to identify safety features of the lock at 7.30pm the night of our arrival. Our child (2.5) worked it out in a hot second and knew instantly how to get out of the home. If he'd gotten out, he'd without a doubt be seriously injured or drowned given the environment surrounding the property. This is not well thought out and it needs to be advertised. A solution would be a hook and latch type lock at the top of the door to allow parents to ensure their children remain safe. Whilst obviously supervising at all times, it only takes a minute for an escape artist! :) Our solution was to put one of the wire washing lines against each door, so at least if he got up disoriented because we weren't home, in the middle of the night, we would hear the slamming before we heard the beep of him opening the automated door. Property could have been a bit cleaner - dead bugs etc. in window frames but nothing a quick whip around vacuum (Dyson stick supplied) couldn't fix, and not unexpected if the property had been vacant for a week or so. LJHookers communication, key exchange etc. is flawless. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools and utensils, plates etc. Beds are comfy and linen clean and so helpful to go to a place in Sussex where we didn't have to supply our own linen and towels. We would definitely return again to this property, and hope by then the lock issue is either sorted, our boy is old enough to understand, or we will just re-implement our previous solution to keep him contained.
